Some lives seem so fragile they might disappear at the slightest touch.
\nAnd yet their eyes shine with strength.
\nI wonder what I can do\u2014how we might live together.
\nStill, what I can offer is so small.
\nBefore such strong and beautiful creatures, I am helpless.
\nAnd yet I have always admired them.
\nSince childhood, a dream has returned to me again and again:
\ntiny green shoots sprouting from my body,
\ngrowing and unfolding until they carry me away on a quiet journey.
\nA swan beside a lake.
\nA monster laughing with a great open mouth.
\nA fish blooming with flowers.
\nA wistful sheep.
\nA lion in the savanna.
\nA circus bear.
\nEven now, as if drifting in a soft dream, I find myself gazing at them
\n\u2014still filled with wonder, still full of longing.<\/p>\n
May you and those beside you
\nsmile gently today,
\nhope for tomorrow,
\nand sleep in peace tonight.<\/p>\n
When I first met Mr. Fujii, I thought,
\n\u201cOh, he is like a magician.\u201d<\/p>\n
Later, when I visited his exhibition,
\nhis works made my heart tremble\u2014
\nand before I realized it, tears were quietly falling.<\/p>\n
When I told him, he only laughed.
\nBut even now, I still wonder
\nif perhaps he indeed is a magician.<\/p>\n
To be able to realize a dream
\nin a place I have long admired
\nfills me with profound happiness.<\/p>\n
Animals were the first subjects I ever worked with,
\nand at the same time
\nthe most difficult for me to create.<\/p>\n
Returning to my origins,
\nI am truly happy to present here the works
\nthat best express who I am today as yacmii.<\/p>\n
This will be my first solo exhibition in Fukuoka, Kyushu.
\nI hope to share with you my works filled with love.
\nI really look forward to welcoming you.<\/p>\n
