Some lives seem so fragile they might disappear at the slightest touch.
And yet their eyes shine with strength.
I wonder what I can do—how we might live together.
Still, what I can offer is so small.
Before such strong and beautiful creatures, I am helpless.
And yet I have always admired them.
Since childhood, a dream has returned to me again and again:
tiny green shoots sprouting from my body,
growing and unfolding until they carry me away on a quiet journey.
A swan beside a lake.
A monster laughing with a great open mouth.
A fish blooming with flowers.
A wistful sheep.
A lion in the savanna.
A circus bear.
Even now, as if drifting in a soft dream, I find myself gazing at them
—still filled with wonder, still full of longing.
May you and those beside you
smile gently today,
hope for tomorrow,
and sleep in peace tonight.
When I first met Mr. Fujii, I thought,
“Oh, he is like a magician.”
Later, when I visited his exhibition,
his works made my heart tremble—
and before I realized it, tears were quietly falling.
When I told him, he only laughed.
But even now, I still wonder
if perhaps he indeed is a magician.
To be able to realize a dream
in a place I have long admired
fills me with profound happiness.
Animals were the first subjects I ever worked with,
and at the same time
the most difficult for me to create.
Returning to my origins,
I am truly happy to present here the works
that best express who I am today as yacmii.
This will be my first solo exhibition in Fukuoka, Kyushu.
I hope to share with you my works filled with love.
I really look forward to welcoming you.

Photography will not be permitted at this exhibition.
